Jeff Goldblum is an American actor and musician, celebrated for his quirky charm, distinctive voice, and offbeat charisma. Born on October 22, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Goldblum was drawn to acting from a young age. He moved to New York City at 17 to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse under the famed acting teacher Sanford Meisner.
Goldblum's film debut came in 1974 with a small but memorable role in Death Wish. He steadily built a career throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s with supporting roles in films like Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and The Big Chill (1983). His breakout performance came in David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986), where he played a scientist whose experiment goes tragically awry—a role that showcased his ability to blend intellect, vulnerability, and intensity.
